BREAKING NEWS: Nigerian actor reported dead

Nigerian actor Olaniyi Raji, popularly known as Baba Atoli has been reported dead.

The late star plied his trade in the Yuroba divide of the Nigerian movie industry.

His sad demise was announced by his colleague Foluke Daramola in an Instagram post on Thursday.

Sharing his photo Foluke wrote: “Sad we lost baba Atoli. Such a shame.”

Meanwhile, friends and family have stormed social media to pay glowing tribute to him.

Instrablog9ja reports that before his death, Baba Atoli begged for financial support following an illness.

In a related development, South African actor, Jamie Bartlett has reportedly died on May 23, 2022 aged 55.

Jamie was the main character in the TV series as Rhythm City and Isindigo was born in England to a South African mother and a British father.

The cause of his death has not been established immediately. He was also a judge in the reality show SA Got Talent.

Bartlett was a well-known and multi-faceted South African actor prior to starring in Rhythm City. He started playing his role as David Genaro in 2007.

He was the first person to speak in scene 1 on the TV series Isidingo as character Mike O’Riley when it was aired on South African television. On the set of Isidingo, he acted opposite Hlomla Dandala who acted as Derek Nyathi.

In 1997, Bartlett acted in the action MNET movie made for TV- The Sexy Girls. The gang-movie genre showcased the realities of the gangster life in Cape Town.

Bartlett also guest starred in the South African, Canadian TV series Jozi-H, a hospital drama set in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was also a judge on SA’s Got Talent alongside Shadow Twala and DJ Fresh (Wikipedia).
