Fetty Wap Set To Be Sentenced For Dealing Cocaine. After pleading guilty, the New Jersey rapper faces a minimum of five years in jail.
Fetty Wap’s legal problems are still in the spotlight, as AllHipHop claims that he has a sentencing date for a federal narcotics conviction. Judge Joanna Seybert will sentence him on January 18th, 2023 for conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grammes or more of cocaine.
The “Trap Queen” star pled guilty to the crime in August, after being arrested alongside five other people for their involvement in a cocaine trafficking network. While other substances were referenced in the indictment, the rapper was solely charged with cocaine. He now faces a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 40, and he waived his right to appeal if convicted to ten years and one month or less. The 31-year-old has already served time in prison and has been photographed behind bars.
“The pipeline of drugs in this investigation extended thousands of miles from the West Coast to the communities here in our area, contributing to the addiction and overdose pandemic that has ripped people’s lives apart time and time again,” said FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge Michael J. Following Fetty Wap’s arrest last year, he was released on a $500,000 bail, which was revoked in December for violating pretrial release restrictions.
