The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has posted some pictures on social media, and many Ghanaians after coming across these pictures couldn’t keep mute over it. According to the President, he was presented with an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Sorbonne, in Paris, France.
This doctorate was given to him because of how well he took charge and protected Ghanaians during the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. How he has been able to ensure peace and prosperity in West Africa as the Chairman of the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS). This doctorate degree was also given to President Akufo-Addo for the implementation of Free Senior High Schools in Ghana.
This is what President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo posted on his official Instagram page, “Today, I was presented with an honorary doctorate degree from the University of Sorbonne, in Paris, France, one of the most prestigious universities in Europe and the world. This was in recognition of my commitment to entrenching the values of democracy in Ghana, fostering peace within the West African Region, and guaranteeing access to a minimum of senior high school education for all of Ghana’s children through the implementation of the Free SHS policy. Also for the leadership shown in the fight against COVID-19, amongst others. I am delighted to be in the of Pablo Picasso, Kofi Annan, Amartya Sen, and Nelson Mandela, who have all received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from Sorbonne University”.
Some Ghanaians after coming across this post from President Akufo-Addo told him that this is not important. They told him to fix the country and stop traveling across the world for a certificate that cannot transform the economy or make the hardship in the country stop.
