Black Stars squad: Razak Brimah ready to replace Ghana’s injured goalkeepers

However, with Jojo Wollacott and Richard Ofori both reportedly injured, Brimah says he is ready to replace the duo in Qatar.

“Always ready for the motherland,” Brimah wrote on Twitter, accompanied by photos of himself in the Black Stars jersey.

It will be recalled that Brimah came under intense scrutiny when he used the ‘F’ word on fans who criticised his performances at AFCON 2017.

Despite apologising to the public for his actions, many campaigned against him getting a national team call-up and he hasn’t played for Ghana since.

The 35-year-old made his national team debut in 2013 and was even Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper during the 2017 AFCON.

Meanwhile, South African giants Orlando Pirates maintain that goalkeeper Richard Ofori has not been ruled out of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

According to the club, Ofori only “suffered a cold” and that is the reason why he was left out of their last game.
